De 1967 a 1974, Declasse produjo el modelo Sabre , que rápidamente se convirtió en un éxito entre los entusiastas de los automóviles. El coche con el clásico motor V8 (OHV) estaba en todas partes, pero pronto hubo quejas sobre su rendimiento errático.

From 1967 to 1974, Declasse produced the Sabre model, which quickly became a hit with car enthusiasts. The car with the classic V8 (OHV) engine was everywhere, but soon there were complaints about its erratic performance.
In the 1980s, Declasse added a Supercharger to the engine, and the Sabre became a real monster on the road — hitting 60 mph in just 1 second! However, it was difficult to service the car outside the U.S., and, for example, in Japan they decided to replace the compressor with a turbine.
Thus was born Declasse Sabre Turbo, which could often be seen on the streets of Japan in drift competitions.
